The McGuinty Government’s recent Budget emphasized jobs and skills training, improved health care, investments in City infrastructure, and education (see details at: http://ontariobudget.ca ). It also contained selected tax relief.
The Seniors Homeowner Property Grant will help our Seniors stay in their homes. It works together with existing tax credits for Seniors.
Starts: Receive up to $250 in 2009
Receive up to $500 in 2010 and every year after that
Who?: Seniors 65 and over who own their own home.
Tenants receive up to $625 in grants under existing programs
How?: Simply file 2008 tax form, available early 2009, and fill in line for the grant
